ABOUT US
Littlest Playmates believes a lifetime of learning begins by empowering children and families through play. Littlest Playmates is an early childhood intervention program vendored through the Frank D. Lanterman Regional Center Early Start Program. Our Early Intervention Program (also known as Infant Stimulation) provides services to infants and toddlers, birth to 36 months with developmental delays, disabilities or who are at risk for developing a delay or disability. Our goal is to provide a quality home-based early intervention program that supports families in meeting their child's developmental needs. We offer a spectrum of services to assist families in supporting their child at several ages and stages of development.
OUR APPROACH
Children learn best through everyday experiences with the people they love and trust the most. Everyday play & exploration is one of the essential daily learning activities for all children, especially young children with delays.
Littlest Playmates strives to provide an authentic in-home play experience by combining child-led activities with adult-supported learning. Through careful observation, a child shows us what they are interested in, and our qualified specialists build purposeful play activities around their interest to support learning and development.
Play-based intervention encourages a child’s curiosity and creates opportunities to positively impact all areas of a child’s development. “Play” is a defining feature of human development and an impulse hardwired into our genetic makeup. However, we must recognize that while play is an impulse, understanding the nuts and bolts of “how to play” or interact with the world around us, does not always come naturally to all children and may require careful cultivation.
